In 1987, my father, Ron Bell, opened our doors in Southport with a single, non-negotiable principle: The handshake is the contract.

He didn't just build a flooring store; he built a reputation for unshakeable integrity in an industry where that is rare. For nearly 40 years, the Bell name has been synonymous with quality on the Gold Coast. We aren't a franchise. We aren't a chain. We are a local family who stands behind every square metre we lay.

The Stewardship

I’m Leon Bell. I didn’t learn this business from a textbook or a boardroom; I learnt it as a kid on the warehouse floor.

Long before I started my official apprenticeship in 2003, I was learning the trade the right way - watching, listening, and understanding that shortcuts don't last.

When I took the reins, I didn't just inherit a business; I inherited a standard. My role today isn't to lay the carpet; it is to ensure our installation teams meet the benchmark my father built. My mandate is simple: whether we are fitting a luxury waterfront home, an investment property, or a commercial office, every job must be a signature of the Bell family name. I ensure our team deliver the precise standard I was taught. We work with the finest tradesman on the Coast - craftsmen who take as much pride in the final finish as I do.

Bell Carpets is a family business in the truest sense. While I direct the projects and technical standards, the operational heartbeat of the business is driven by my wife, Melissa. Supported by my mother, Cheri, and my aunt, Collette, we manage every detail personally.
